Our Back Story ….

We all started our own personal weight loss journey many years ago with group support and help, we achieved our weight loss goals. We each decided to become WW Coaches and this is where our story begins.On 15th June 2006, we met for the first time and we just clicked .

We trained together, having the same passion we became colleagues, very soon after that we became great friends in both our professional and personal lives.

We’ve all run amazing meetings for over 16 years, we’ve met the most incredible people helping them achieve their goals in terms of support, motivation, information, encouragement, a friendly smile or a simple “Hello”  how are you doing !!!

As WW coaches we excelled at our craft, with each of us being honoured as “Leader of the Year”  This is an absolute privilege, as its on behalf of our members, something we’re all extremely proud of.

On 17th December 2021, our lives changed, our members lives changed.  The good will of all our members has given us the motivation and drive to continue together in creating Turning Point Wellness.

Mission Statement

At Turning Point Wellness our focus is on weight loss, weight management, wellness, and wellbeing.ᅠWith our support and motivation, we will empower our community with the tools to make healthy food choices, achieve their healthy weight and sustain a healthy happy lifestyle.

My journey began on the 25th of September 1997,it was the day that my milkman left me slimline milk on my doorstep by mistake and I took that as a sign that I needed to do something about my lifestyle, my friend had joined Weight Watchers so I decided to go along with her, I can still remember how nervous I was, thinking I’d be the largest person there and what would they think of me, I had put off joining for so long thinking I’d lose some weight before I would join, that night I found out how overweight I was,I knew I was overweight but not by how much,here I was with three stone to lose to get me to a healthy weight and this is where the rest of my life would begin..

I took it meal by meal,day by day,week by week,some were easier than others as a mother to three children life was very busy and it can be very easy to put the wants and needs of others ahead of our own but to make this work I needed to take the time to plan out my meals and to never miss my WW meetings,good weeks,not so good weeks and the stay the same weeks I needed my meetings so that I could start afresh no matter what the scales had to say,

I achieved my goal the following summer, it was a combination of some weeks with a good weight loss, some by the half a pound, some the stay the same weeks and there was a few gain weeks also but nothing was going to stop me getting to my goal,it was the week I was going away on holidays that I achieved my goal and it felt so good to be excited about going away and not to be thinking about how uncomfortable my weight would make me feel,no seatbelt extension on the plane was the first of many great feelings I had on that holiday,

After clerking for five years I decided to apply to become a WW Leader and this is where I found the occupation that I absolutely adore, it’s my passion to see the change in people, how their confidence grew each week with every change they make, seeing them achieve their goals and the joy that this brings and knowing what that joy meant to them was unbelievable and so rewarding, for me it’s a privilege to be apart of it, nearly sixteen years later and I’m still as passionate about what I do and I’d love to be apart of your amazing journey to your healthy goals so here’s to our future together,the healthier version of you is waiting to meet you..

I was overweight for most of my life from my teens, my twenties and my early thirties

I’d tried every diet going, yes I lost weight but I always put it back on again and more, this cycle continued for many years.

I was tired of being overweight, I was really tired of the struggle, so I decided to join WW, I also committed to following the plan and trying to be patient … not always easy, I had a lot to learn !!

It was in my meetings that I learned how to eat healthy, how to include some activity and how small changes make a big difference.

I loved my meetings,  I’d met my tribe and I went on to lose 5 stone

I honestly never ever thought I could do it, but I did.

I continued to go to my weekly meeting as it was an important part of my life, and I needed the support to maintain my weight.

7 years later I decided to become a Coach, best decision ever, its hard work but so rewarding, I’ve made a difference in other people’s lives, I’ve made the most amazing friends and above all I’ve drawn on so many tools to help me through my personal life.

Weight management is not just about the scales, it’s about our health and wellbeing too. At Turning Point Wellness I look forward to continuing to offer guidance, support and motivation to help you achieve your personal goal – I’m on this journey with you

Hello, I’m Nicola O Grady. I was a coach at Weight Watchers Ireland for over 15 years and after their sudden closure, myself and 2 of my fellow coaches who are also my best friends, decided to continue doing what we loved and set up our own company. My passion is getting to know people and assisting them in achieving their goals, in wellbeing and weight loss. I have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in weight loss, wellness, and life!! I love getting to know people and understanding where they are in life and seeing how we can work together to achieve a goal.

At Turning Point Wellness we know what it takes for somebody to take the first step, that is why when you take that first step with us we will be here to make you feel at ease. Everything you will be experiencing we have experienced too and know how important it is to look after each and every one of our members.

When you are finished your 1st session, you will be already feeling lighter and brighter and have the energy and excitement to make the changes towards a better you along with our continued support. This journey can seem like a tough one but we endeavour to make it as enjoyable as possible.

I love food and the thought of having to give up food that I love, frightens me!!! So I always encourage my members cut back, don’t cut out and make what you love having worth it!! Try new foods, be ready to make a change and the sacrifice will be worth it.

Think of it as a class, if you want to lose weight, we can help you with practical advice, helpful tips from shopping to cooking, all the basics needed to set up your new healthy happy lifestyle, small steps all the way to big results

Glasnevin – Glasnevin Lawn Tennis Club: Wednesday 10am-11am, 11am-11.30am, 5pm-6pm,  6pm-6.30pm

Malahide – St. Sylvesters GAA: Friday 10am-11am, 11am-11.30am

Swords – Pavilions Shopping Centre: Saturday 9am-11am, 11am-11.30am. Men only classes: Saturdays at 8:15am

Leixlip – Our Lady’s Parish Centre: Thursday 6.45pm
