Hi I’m Kirsten
Before joining Turning Point Wellness, I was at my heaviest weight of over 15 stone. I had gained a lot of weight working from home during the lockdowns and honestly the only form of exercise I was getting during this time was walking from the office to the kitchen. My weight began to impact my everyday life, I would be out of breath walking up the stairs, I was exhausted all the time and I wasn’t comfortable in my clothes or my body. My turning point came just after a friend’s wedding when I saw myself in the photos and cried. I hated myself in them. I didn’t like how I looked and was very sad at how I had treated myself and my body. I knew I had to change.
I joined Turning Point Wellness in January 2023. I was so nervous starting the class but from the moment I walked in and was introduced to Catherine (our fabulous leader), Jackie and everyone I felt so at home and so welcomed. When I joined Catherine’s class I thought the focus would be on the goal of weight loss however Catherine has taught all of us to fall in love with the journey – the good and the bad. It has helped me to get to know myself again, grow in confidence and hit milestones I never thought I could achieve. It has also given me the confidence to challenge myself to new forms of exercise and try new foods and recently I gave up vaping. This was something that I have wanted to do over the last couple of months and I finally have achieved it. Turning Point Wellness is not only about weight loss but it is about overall wellness. The classes are fantastic, with great craic and tips to help us on our journeys. The Nutra-Check app has made tracking easy and enjoyable and taught me a lot about nutrition. Catherine is absolutely fantastic, she always greets us with a smile, and gives us great support and encouragement, especially in the challenging weeks. There is a beautiful community in Turning Point Wellness with everyone supporting and cheering each other on. We have all made friends for life in the classes. I have lost 4 stone with Turning Point Wellness. One tip that works for me is turning up each week to our class. No matter how good, bad or ugly the week has been, it always helps keep me in check and motivates me for the week ahead with great tips.
