Hi, I’m Tracey and I’m 53 ,
I joined Weight Watchers in my twenties after getting married, having two children and using a deep fat fryer way too much.
I dipped in and out for years always thinking after I lost weight and got to my goal I could do it by myself and every time the weight came back on, and then I would have to start all over again.
My class is in Leixlip with the wonderful down-to-earth Mary who just encourages and supports whenever you need her.
I was in class when Covid struck and for the first little while I was doing ok, the weather was good, and it was nice albeit still scary for everyone, as time went on so did the weight, and I was never so happy to see the Facebook post from Mary that classes would open again, as Turning Point Wellness just to see other people that weren’t just family was a god send 😂 the first class I went back with my good friend and neighbour Maria and we’re both still go now and are a constant support to each other. Mary introduced us to Calorie Counting, using an App, it was so easy to use .and something different, the excitement of taking charge of my weight kicked in quickly.
The people in my class are all brilliant who I now consider as friends and look forward to seeing them each week for a chat, a laugh and a catch-up.

The time at the scales is one moment after that, it’s all about helpful tips in terms of food, wellness and wellbeing, taking some time for us to top up our motivation for the week ahead.
The most helpful tip I can give anyone is go to class!!!
Since I’ve been to class every week except for my holidays, this is the longest I’ve kept my weight off.
The support and friendships I’ve made are worth their weight in gold.
Hi I’m Maria,
My journey with Turning Point Wellness began in May 2022; after a very emotional previous year. My good friend and neighbour Tracey had joined TPW a little while before me and highly recommended I join, what had I got to lose.
I had become obsessed about my weight; I wasn’t comfortable in my clothes and the way I looked.
My self-esteem was low, even though people would think differently because I didn’t show that side in public.
Stepping into Mary’s class, I didn’t know what to think or expect, I was quite nervous, but by the end of the class, I thought this could work, the class was so friendly and welcoming.
Mary is so positive and supportive, the class is entertaining, a few belly laughs thrown in, but the big thing I love is that its focus is not all about the scales or all about food, it’s about our total wellbeing. It’s also about making time for me, which isn’t always easy
Having said that, the foodie ideas are always fab too.
What keeps me going my TPW class
The other members of the class especially Tracey, without her support and encouragement to join, I would be, without a doubt, in a different kind of place, all the other members who are all so supportive and kind to each other
Mary of course, always has a smile, words of encouragement and by the end of class, I always leave with a smile on my face, a spring in my step and it’s all thanks to Turning Point Wellness
